Phnom Penh: Apart from Kampong Cham, the Ministry of Health has added the provinces of Kandal and Preah Vihear in its roll-out of booster shots against Covid-19. The frontline workers including police, military and health workers are the priorities for the AstraZeneca booster shots. Kandal Provincial Administration has issued a notification to provide third dose to civil servants, teachers, provincial administration officials as well as districts, departments and units around the province.
In Preah Vihear, Deputy Commissioner for Planning Brigadier General Chhay Borin says the third dose vaccination is given first to the police force to further protect them against the Covid-19. Eleven areas in the kingdom now included the capital have rolled-out the booster shots for those fully vaccinated with either Sinopharm and Sinovac.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health has identified 15 provinces across the country that are not strictly adhering to the use of face mask. The Ministry has reiterated its warning on the importance of wearing face mask to the people of Pursat, Battambang, Mondulkiri, Ratanakiri, Kratie, Stung Treng, Kampot, Kep, Kampong Thom, Preah Vihear, Pailin, Koh Kong, Kampong Chhnang, Tbong Khmum and Oddar Meanchey provinces. They are also reminded to practice social distancing as the country continues to fight the spread of Covid-19.
